Show, then ask
The work is published on this site in full, including the websites recorded end to end. If we're not the right studio for a job, we say so and point you elsewhere.
Markora exists because good businesses keep losing customers to worse businesses with better websites. We design and build the thing that fixes it — and we've deliberately kept the studio small enough that the people you talk to are the people doing the work.
Why we work this way
Ask anyone who's hired a design agency what went wrong and you'll hear the same four answers: it took twice as long as promised, the price moved, half the meetings were pointless, and the person who pitched wasn't the person who did the work.
None of those are creative problems. They're operating problems — and they're the reason a straightforward website ends up costing six thousand dollars and taking six weeks.
So we built the studio without them. Prices are published on the site rather than quoted after a discovery call. Scope is written down before anyone pays anything. Progress arrives as a video every 48 hours instead of a status meeting. And the work is published on this site in full, because showing is a stronger argument than promising.
What's left is the part that was always worth paying for: the design, the code, and the words.
What happens in-house
Nothing here gets farmed out to a marketplace freelancer the week before your deadline. Every part of a Markora project is produced by the studio, which is the only reason the pieces fit together when they arrive.
Every site is coded by hand rather than assembled from a theme. That means load times measured in kilobytes, layouts that hold up on a five-year-old Android, keyboard navigation that works, and a codebase your next developer can actually read.
Layout, type, colour and hierarchy — decided against your market rather than against a trend. The same eye reviews every screen before it reaches you, which is why a Markora site looks composed rather than assembled.
Identity systems, logo files in every format you'll ever be asked for, print-ready packaging artwork on your printer's dieline, and the guidelines that stop it all falling apart the moment someone else touches it.
The words are written here, not left as placeholder text for you to fill in later. Headlines, section copy, calls to action — drafted against what you sell and who buys it, then cut down until every line is doing a job.
Scoping, scheduling, invoicing and the 48-hour update rhythm. Unglamorous, and the actual reason deadlines hold and prices don't move halfway through a build.
How a project runs
You send a link or a description of the business. We come back with a fixed price and a fixed date. This is where most studios book a discovery call; we'd rather give you a number.
If you like the direction, you get a written scope and a fixed price. Everything included is listed. Everything excluded is listed too — that second list is the one that prevents arguments later.
50% to start, then a short questionnaire: what you sell, who buys it, what a visitor should do. That's the only real homework in the whole project.
Design and copy progress arrives in your inbox with a short video walkthrough, twice a week. Reply whenever it suits you — there is no standing call to attend and no time zone to accommodate.
Consolidated feedback, twice. We'd rather you gather your thoughts and send one clear list than drip-feed twenty messages — it produces a better result and keeps the deadline honest.
You pay the balance, every source file transfers to you, and we either publish it or hand the whole thing to your own developer. Nothing stays locked to us.
What we hold to
01
The work is published on this site in full, including the websites recorded end to end. If we're not the right studio for a job, we say so and point you elsewhere.
02
Published, fixed, and written into the scope. If we underestimated the job, that's our problem to absorb — not a change order to send you.
03
Domains, hosting accounts and source files stay in your name. No monthly fee exists purely to keep your own website switched on.
04
A beautiful page that takes four seconds to appear is a broken page. Performance and accessibility are checked before anything is called finished.
05
If a job needs a specialist we don't have, or a budget we can't honour, we tell you instead of taking the work and hoping. It costs us projects. It's still the right call.
↳
100% money-back on the finished project. If we get all five of these right, we'll never need to honour it.
Where the work lives
Async isn't a compromise we make because of distance — it's the reason distance stops mattering. Client work from this studio runs in:
United States
Canada
Switzerland
United Arab Emirates
Qatar
Egypt
Brazil
Pakistan
Tell us what the business does and what isn't working. You'll get a fixed price and a fixed date back — no discovery call, and no obligation to go ahead.
