Web design & development that earns its keep.
Most clients come to Markora for one thing: a website that finally looks like the business behind it and actually brings enquiries in. This is the service we've sharpened hardest — hand-built, fast, written to convert, and delivered on a fixed price in seven days.
What we build
Five kinds of site, one standard.
Whatever shape your business is, the job is the same: make a stranger understand you in ten seconds and give them an obvious next step.
Business & marketing sites
The multi-page site most companies actually need — home, services, about, work, contact — structured so each page answers one question and points at the enquiry form. Built for restaurants, clinics, agencies, contractors, consultancies and professional firms.
Landing pages
One page, one offer, one action. Built for paid traffic, a product launch, or a campaign you're about to spend real money driving people to. Fast to load, ruthless about removing anything that isn't helping the visitor decide.
E-commerce storefronts
Product pages that sell, a checkout that doesn't lose people, and a catalogue you can update yourself. We handle the design and build; you keep the platform account, the payments and the data in your own name.
Website redesigns
You already have traffic — it just isn't converting, or the site looks a decade older than the business. We rebuild it around what's already working, keep your URLs and rankings intact, and agree the direction with you before a line of it is built.
Restaurant, booking & menu sites
Menus that read properly on a phone at a dinner table, reservation links that work on the first tap, and photography treated like the asset it is. Four of the eight builds in our portfolio are hospitality — it's a room we know well.
What's included
Everything, in the one price.
- A custom design — drawn for your business, not a marketplace theme with your logo swapped in.
- Hand-written code — clean HTML, CSS and JavaScript that loads in around a second, with no plugin sprawl to maintain.
- Mobile-first layouts — designed on a phone screen first and tested across phone, tablet and desktop before handover.
- Copy that sells — headlines, section copy and calls to action written for you, so nothing ships full of placeholder text.
- On-page SEO — title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, alt text, schema markup, sitemap and robots file.
- Speed & accessibility passes — compressed images, lazy loading, keyboard navigation, readable contrast, reduced-motion support.
- A working contact form — wired to your inbox, spam-protected, and tested before you ever see it.
- Launch support — we publish it to your hosting, or hand over every file for your own developer.
Quoted separately: custom web applications, membership or booking engines, bespoke back-ends, ongoing hosting, original photography, and content migration for very large sites. Ask and we'll give you a number — we just won't pretend it fits in a fixed price when it doesn't.
Proof
Sites we've built, in motion.
Every build below was designed and developed by this studio and recorded end to end. Press play — it's a far better answer than a screenshot.
How a build runs
Seven days, five moves.
- DAY 0
Scope & fixed price
You send your current site or a short description of the business. We come back with a written scope and a fixed price — what's included, what isn't, and the date it goes live. No discovery phase, no hourly estimate.
- DAY 1
Brief & deposit
If the number works, you pay 50% and fill in a short brief: what you sell, who buys it, what you want visitors to do. Ten minutes, once. That's the only homework there is.
- DAY 2–4
Design & copy
We lay out every page and write the words at the same time, because a layout designed around real copy behaves differently from one designed around lorem ipsum. You get a walkthrough video every 48 hours.
- DAY 5–6
Build, speed & SEO
The approved design gets coded by hand, compressed, given its meta tags, schema, sitemap and alt text, then tested across browsers and screen sizes.
- DAY 7
Changes, then launch
Two rounds of revisions are included. On approval you pay the balance, every source file transfers to you, and we publish it — or hand the whole thing to your own developer.
Why it's built this way
Fast sites aren't a feature.
They're the baseline.
Speed is a business number
A page that takes four seconds to appear loses a meaningful share of the people who asked for it — and on a phone, on mobile data, in a car park, that's most of your visitors. Hand-written code means there's no theme framework, no plugin stack and no tracker pile-up between your visitor and your offer.
We compress every image, defer everything that isn't needed to paint the first screen, and ship a page whose weight is measured in kilobytes rather than megabytes.
SEO built in, not bolted on
Search visibility starts in the markup: one clear H1 per page, headings in a sensible order, descriptive alt text, fast loads, and structured data so Google — and increasingly ChatGPT and Perplexity — can understand what your business does and who it serves.
Every site ships with title tags, meta descriptions, Open Graph images, schema markup, an XML sitemap and a robots file already in place. You'll never have to buy an "SEO package" to fix the basics we should have done in the first place.
You own everything
The domain stays in your name, the hosting account stays in your name, and every source file transfers to you on final payment. Nothing is held hostage, and there's no monthly fee that exists only to keep your own website switched on.
Designed for the person, not the portfolio
Awards go to sites that look clever. Money goes to sites that are easy. We'll happily make it beautiful — most of this portfolio is — but never at the cost of a visitor being able to find your phone number on a phone in three seconds.
Every kind of build
Pick the page that describes your job.
The same fixed price and the same seven days, written for what you are actually trying to build.
Small business websites
Five pages that do the work of fifteen. Custom design, copy written for you, live in seven days for a published $299.
E-commerce & online stores
Product pages that answer objections and a checkout that does not leak. Shopify or a lighter custom storefront, with the account in your name.
Website redesigns
Rebuild without resetting your rankings — full URL inventory, one-to-one redirect mapping and content migration included, not quoted on top.
Landing pages
One page, one offer, one action, with the copy and the conversion tracking built in. Live in three to five days.
Brand + website together
The full relaunch: a brand system and a site designed as one thing and launched in ten days, for $39 less than buying them apart.
By industry
Or the page written for your industry.
Each one is backed by a published case study rather than a stock photograph and a promise.
Restaurants, cafés & bars
A menu that opens instantly on a phone instead of a PDF nobody can read, and a booking link that works on the first tap.
Auto repair & garages
Built around one action: tap to call, in the first screen, on a phone. See the Bristol Auto Repair build, filmed end to end.
Architecture & interiors
Project pages with room to breathe and imagery that stays sharp without the page crawling. See the DSCAPE build.
Real estate agents & brokers
Listing pages that load on cellular, lead capture people finish, and a brand that stays yours when you change brokerage.
Not listed? Ask anyway.
Clinics, contractors, consultancies, professional firms and launches make up most of what we build. Tell us the business and you get a fixed price back.
